WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT THE BREAKFAST REVOLUTION WOULD START IN A LITTLE TOWN CALLED BIGGLESWADE?

A lot’s happened along the way – a driving fine here, a fire there – but a little roughness round the edges is a beautiful thing.

THE EARLIEST SURVIVING PUBLIC RECORD

Holme Mills valued at 47 shillings in the Domesday Book.

1855
THE MILLING LEGACY BEGINS

The Jordans family, who had been farmers up until this time, move into flour milling at Eaton Ford.

1893
THE NEW 'HOLME'

The aptly named Holme Mills, the home of Jordans cereals, was bought at auction by the Jordans family.

1899
FIRE STRIKES TWICE

Two big fires in 1894 and 1899 virtually gutted the mill, but led to a major rebuild and brought about the change from traditional stone milling to metal roller mills.

MILLER FINED FOR 'NIPPING' WRONG WAY

William Jordan was fined for going the wrong way up a one way street 'to catch a train'!

1968
THE DISCOVERY

Bill Jordan starts touring as drummer in rock & blues band which takes him to the USA where he came face to face with the deliciously oaty cereal, Granola.

1969
WHOLEFOOD MOVEMENT HITS BEDFORDSHIRE

Bill brought back some of the fabulous granola and along with his brother David, they set about on a mission to convert Britain to whole grain granola goodness.

1970
THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT

Bill and David took over the family Mill and turned to wholewheat flours and breakfast cereals.

1972
BRITAIN INTRODUCED TO GRANOLA

The Jordans' 'Crunchy G' granola was born and the recipe continues to this day – as our Crunchy Oat Granola.

1975
MUESLI MAKES AN APPEARANCE

Our lovely Muesli launches, packed full of whole grain cereals, juicy fruit, and a handful of nuts.

THE STORY COMES TO A CRUNCH

The Original Crunchy Bar, the first ever cereal bar is introduced to Britain.

THINGS GET CHEWY

Our deliciously chewy Frusli bar is launched.

JORDANS SEEKS TO PROTECT NATURE

Bill co-founded The Conservation Grade farming scheme, designed to ensure a reliable supply of nature-friendly cereals.

CRUNCHY TO THE LAST BITE

Country Crisp hit the shelves - perfectly-baked morish oat clusters blended with fruit and nuts.

A WIN WITH 'THE QUEEN'S AWARD FOR EXPORT'

Real Strawberry Country Crisp breakfast cereal becomes one of the biggest brands in the French cereals market.

AWARD-WINNING NATURAL PARK

The beautiful Pensthorpe Nature Reserve was bought by Bill Jordan. As one of  Norfolk's leading attractions, it's a brilliant day out.

WE SCOOP A SECOND WIN AT THE QUEEN'S AWARDS

JORDANS GIVES BACK

We were a founding partner of the Princes Countryside Fund, helping ensure a sustainable future for Britain's rural areas.

FOR THE GOOD OF NATURE

Proud of our Good Food Commitment, we asked you to pledge 10% of your outside space as a wildlife-friendly home. From a huge gardens to a small patio or a few hanging baskets – every little helped.

MILL OPENS TO THE PUBLIC

Jordans Historic Mill visitor centre opened its doors to you, celebrating Bedfordshire's role in food production - why not pop down for a visit where you can take a tour around the mill, and then relax overlooking the beautiful gardens whilst trying out their delicious locally sourced food.

WE LAND DOWN UNDER

Our cereals hit the shores of Australia and proved to be a great success.

CHAMPIONING BRITISH

We proudly won a 'Waitrose Way' award for championing the British Countryside through our commitment to supporting British Farmers and Nature-Friendly farming.

JORDANS GOES WILD

We showcased our first ever show garden at RHS Hampton Court in collaboration with our garden designer Selina Botham, proudly winning Silver & the People's Choice award.

WE HEAD BACK TO THE FIELD...
