We believe the best ingredients are found wearing wellies, which is why we are delighted to be sponsoring LEAF’s (Linking Environment and Farming) Open Farm Sunday on the 5th June.
Each year the event sees farms across the country open their gates to the public so that everyone can have a chance to get into the countryside and discover the world of farming. Each farm does something a little different, so depending where you are you might have the opportunity to learn how cows are milked, go on a tractor ride or learn all about the wildlife which can thrive on farms.
This year there are over 350 farms across the UK getting involved, so to find a farm near you visit https://farmsunday.org/
We decided long before it was trendy to be green that looking after wildlife was a pretty big deal, so back in 1985 we committed to farming in a way that supports wildlife. Some people might say we’ve not moved with the times but we think we were ahead of the game and all these years later we still believe our countryside matters, and hopefully so do you.
With the support of the Wildlife Trusts and The Prince’s Countryside Fund, at Jordans we work as a team to look after our farms, the wildlife that lives there and the rural communities that support it. We hope you enjoy your day out on Open Farm Sunday, you can join the conversation using #OFS2016 on Facebook and Twitter too. Whatever the weather there will be plenty for everyone to do, kids and adults alike!
