Ali Visits Manor Farm

Today Ali (Our Principal Farm Advisor) visited Manor Farm in Newbury, the farm is run by Nick who has been growing oats for Jordans for many years. Ali visited to undertake a bird survey! She will repeat the same survey in June to see what effects Nick’s conservation programme is having.

We are very pleased to say that Ali saw a staggering 32 different bird species on Nick’s farm! This included some very important breeding pairs of Priority Action Species.

Ali also saw some wonderful wildlife habitats including grass margins with primroses, stitchwort and other spring flowers. She could see and smell the bluebells in the woods. The spring sown cereals were providing a great skylark habitat.

She also saw the wild bird seed plots that Nick creates to provide much needed bird food in the colder months.
