Put a spring in your step and start your day the right way
Getting some fuel in the power station first thing sets you up for the day. A bowl of something nutritious in the morning gets you ready for the day by providing the energy we need to kick start our body into action as well as providing some of the essential vitamins and minerals we need for good health.
For a smart choice, try semi-skimmed milk or a dollop of low fat yogurt
The best breakfasts provide a source of fibre and whole grain, such as a bowl of muesli or porridge. If you add milk you can top up your calcium levels and adding fruit will make sure you get some of those all-important vitamins too.
You might be busy, or watching your weight, but try to get some breakfast inside you! Start your day on the right foot by going for something nutritious like whole grain cereal with milk, some sliced banana and a glass of fruit juice. Waking up with a bowl full of fibre, vitamins and minerals will give you the energy you need to keep going to lunch. Or if you’ve got time on your side, perhaps a poached egg on wholemeal toast.
